The part cost more than it was worth
"I ordered an altenator for my car from Carparts. I called them and found out that the part would not arrive in time for a trip that I had to make on the weekend. I offered to pay to have it sent next day air, but I was assured that it could be shipped that way. When it didn't arrive the next day, the customer service person said that it had never been changed, or in fairness, the request was made too late. I was supposed to recieve a call letting me know about the status of arrival. I didn't get it. As a result of that, I had to rent a car, which, along with other transportation expenses, came to almost $200.00."

Online catalog is as bad as their customer service
"I ordered replacement headlights for my 2005 Chrysler Town and Country minivan. The fitment catalog asked me for trim package, which is the Touring package. They provided price and part number and I bought them. Upon receiving the headlights, they didn't fit. I called customer service and they said I would have to pay return shipping. WTF? it's YOUR catalog that matched these parts to my make/model/trim package. My order clearly states "2 headlights for a 2005 chrysler town and country TOURING model". The rep said that the headlights they sent to me are for a 113" wheelbase, and I ordered the wrong parts. I looked up the technical specs for my vehicle and there is only 1 wheelbase for the 2005 Chrysler Town and Country Touring....and it's 119 inches. I changed customer service reps via a 2nd call. Same story. CarParts.com trains their reps to really believe it's the customer's fault, when the root cause of the issue is their catalog and online fitment!!! Their process should not have matched headlights meant for a different wheelbase vehicle. HORRIBLE. Never again. Amazon providers is where I stick with from now on. "
